About the Role we are currently seeking a skilled and safety driven Development Charge Up Crew Operator to join our clients underground mining operations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe preparation handling and charging of development drill holes in accordance with blasting schedules and mine regulations Key Responsibilities Handle transport and use explosives and detonators safely and in compliance with site procedures and legal regulations Charge development headings and ensure optimal blasting performance Prepare blast holes insert primers load explosives and connect detonating systems accurately Inspect all charged up areas prior to blasting and report any anomalies or safety hazards Work closely with the drilling and blasting team to ensure timely and safe blasting operations Maintain accurate records of explosive usage and inventory Conduct daily inspections of equipment and tools used in charge up activities Requirements Minimum 3 years experience in underground development charge up or blasting operations Valid blasting certificate or equivalent qualification recognized in the mining industry Comprehensive knowledge of explosives handling blasting techniques and safety standards Familiarity with non electric and electronic initiation systems Ability to read and follow development drill patterns and blast plans Strong safety mindset attention to detail and effective communication skills Physically fit and capable of working in harsh underground environments
